East End Neighborhood Housing Update

Thump, thunk, thump, thunk. The rhythmic echo of mechanized equipment reverberates across campus during the early afternoon hours, chipping away at the husk left behind by Holt Hall.

Starting in the summer of 2024, Charles Perry Partners, Inc. (CCPI), a general contracting firm hired by Rollins College, broke ground on the East End Neighborhood, a residence hall set to open during the fall semester of 2026 that promises to add another 300 beds to campus. East End Neighborhood is to take the place of the recently demolished Holt Hall and Bert W. Martin Tennis Complex and Copeland Stadium, with the goal of “providing residential housing to students, reinforcing our three-year live-on requirement,” according to a statement posted to the Rollins website.

The East End Neighborhood was designed by the architecture and graphics firm Hanbury Design, an experienced company that has planned 155 residential communities on nearly 200 college and university campuses world-wide. Institutions they have worked with include the University of Chicago, Princeton University, and Virginia Tech, which are all ranked in the top 60 National Universities by US News.

With every thump and every thunk, construction crews move a step closer toward completion. Students can look forward to more project details and construction updates in the future.
