If you are a Rollins student, you probably saw the news via a fellow Tar’s Facebook status in the last hour or so. President Barack Obama is making a stop at the Harold and Ted Alfond Sports Center this Friday, July 20 at 4:10 p.m.
So, the status rumors are true, though Obama’s midsummer stop is perhaps made a bit less exciting for many Rollins students since much of the student body will not be on campus to see the President take the floor in the same complex that hosted events with Gloria Steinem and Jane Goodall this past school year.
Friday’s event, part of a two-day Florida leg of Obama’s re-election campaign, is free and open to the public, but tickets are required. Tickets will be available starting at 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 18 at Rollins Advancement Services and the Organizing for America offices listed below on a first-come, first-served basis.
